history of imran khan

Imran Khan was born on November 25, 1952 in Lahore, Pakistan. He comes from a Pashtun family and is the eldest of four siblings. He was educated at Aitchison College and the Royal Grammar School Worcester in the UK, and later at Keble College, Oxford, where he earned a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Khan began his professional cricket career in 1971 and quickly established himself as a top player. He captained the Pakistani national team in the early 1990s, and led them to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan's first and only World Cup win. After retiring from cricket in 1992, Khan turned his attention to philanthropy and politics.

In 1996, Khan founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which he currently leads. The party originally struggled to gain support and win elections, but has grown in popularity in recent years. In the 2013 general election, the PTI emerged as the second-largest party in the National Assembly, and in the 2018 general election, the PTI emerged as the largest party, winning 115 of the National Assembly's 272 seats. This led to Khan being elected as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Khan has faced many challenges during his time as Prime Minister, including a struggling economy, political instability, and challenges from the opposition. Despite these challenges, he has remained popular among his supporters, who see him as a charismatic leader who can bring change to the country.
