how to make chicken soup Recipe

 

 


Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken or 2-3 lbs of chicken parts
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 8 cups of chicken broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley or thyme for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, add the chicken and cover with the chicken broth or water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low.
  2. Skim any foam that rises to the surface.
  3. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Simmer for about 1-1.5 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  6. Remove the chicken from the pot and let cool slightly.
  7. Once cool enough to handle, shred the chicken meat and return it to the pot.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or thyme if desired.
